Introduction
Devices settings enable an admin user to set devices according to their priorities. Set different modes, access mask compliance feature, change colors of different components of the device display, and do a lot more. You can find all these features in Device Settings.
Device Settings are divided into two segments:
- Global device settings
- Device Configuration
Global Device Settings
In Global Device Settings, you can set mode, Mask Compliance, Master Data Sync Interval, and the duration of data retention on device. Global Device Settings are applicable for all devices associated with an account.
Setting a mode
There are two types of mode settings – Continuous and Alternative In/Out.
- Continuous – In Continuous mode, the device recognizes the face of the employee and alerts through a notification displayed on the device’s screen with your device name, employee ID, employee name, department, and timings along with a voice message Attendance Successfully Marked whenever an employee checks-in or checks-out.
Continuous mode is applicable, in case, attendance is to be taken once in the morning and once in the evening on the basis of which the number of working hours will be calculated automatically by the system for marking a Present.
- Alternative In/Out – In Alternative In/Out mode, the device recognizes the face of the employee and alerts through a notification displayed on the device’s screen with your device name, employee ID, employee name, department, and timings along with a voice message “Checked-In” or “Checked-Out” respectively whenever an employee checks-in or checks-out.
Alternative In/Out mode is applicable, in case, you want to calculate the actual number of working hours an employee was present in the office. Especially, applicable for employees working in the field. It precisely calculates the total number of working hours deducting the number of hours an employee was out in the field. In check-in or check-out mode, the device allows multiple check-in or check-out punches.
To set a mode:
- Go to Home>Devices>Global Device Settings.
- Toggle between Continuous/In-out mode to change the mode settings.
- A pop-up will appear asking you whether you want to change this mode settings. Click Change to confirm or Cancel to go back.
Mask Compliance
Mask Compliance, as the name signifies, is complying to rules and regulations regarding wearing masks within the premises. Mask Compliance feature enables employees to mark attendance via CamAttendance Device either ways with or without a mask. Mask Compliance option allows you to turn ON and OFF mask compliance via a toggle button.
Turn Mask Compliance ON if you want the device to capture attendance of the employees with a mask on their face. In case, the Mask Compliance is turned ON and the employee tries to mark attendance without a mask, the device gives a voice alert with a message on the screen – PLEASE WEAR A MASK.
Turn Mask Compliance OFF if you want the device to capture attendance of the employees without a mask on their face. On the Contrary, if Mask Compliance is turned OFF and the employee tries to mark attendance wearing a mask, the device gives a voice alert with a message on the screen – PLEASE REMOVE THE MASK.
Use toggle button located in front of Mask Compliance to toggle between ON and OFF.
A pop-up appears asking for your confirmation. Click Change to confirm or Cancel to go back.
Master Data Sync Interval
Master Data Sync Interval is the time-period it takes for the Master Data to sync with the Device whenever you add a new employee, add a profile pic or make other modifications to an employee on the portal. An admin user can set this period and modify it later depending on the need and requirements. This feature is specifically applicable to Employee in Master Data.
To set Master Data Sync Interval in Global Device Settings:
Simply click your preferred choice to make a selection. You may set an interval from the available options – 10, 20, or 30 minutes depending on your preferences.
A pop-up appears asking for your confirmation. Click Change to confirm or Cancel to go back.
Data Retention on Device
Data retention, as the name signifies, is the periodic interval during which the transactions data remains on the device. This interval can vary between 7 days to 45 days depending on what you set in the portal.
To set the periodic interval for Data Retention on device:
Simply click your preferred choice to make a selection. You can set the period to be 7, 15, or 45 days depending on your preferences.
After this period, the data moves to the CamAttendance Cloud. This feature is aimed to empty the storage space on Device in order to store new data.
Device Configuration
In Device Configuration, admin users can set brightness, alert volume, configuration, screen timeout, customize device display by changing top bar background color, logo’s background color, and font color, etc from the web portal itself. In addition, admin users can change device PIN by setting a new device PIN.
To customize the Top Bar Background Color, go to Home>Devices>Device Configuration.
- Select a Location and a Device from the drop-down which you want to customize settings for.
In Brightness:
- Turn the Toggle button ON to set the brightness of the device for available light. In simple words, turning it ON will enable the Device to adjust brightness level automatically according to the available light in the room.
- Turn the Toggle button OFF in order to set the brightness level as per your preferences. Simply drag the pointer by double clicking on it towards your preferred choice to set brightness level.
In Volume:
Set Alert Type (Voice or Tone) and Alert Volume (low or high).
In Configuration:
- Allow Add Employee from Device using the Toggle button.
- Set a Time Format using toggle – 12 or 24 hours.
- Set a Date Format – Day, Date, Month and Day, Month, Date.
- Set an Alert Language – English or Hindi. Alert Language is the language that you can set to receive alerts from the device whenever an employee checks-in or checks-out.
- Set Flash mode to ON and OFF. Turning it ON will enable the CamAttendance device to capture attendance even in the dark.
- Information Display Duration is the amount of time the information of an employee is displayed on the screen after marking attendance. Information can be displayed on the screen for 3, 5, or 10 seconds depending upon the option you select.
- Set Interval between two Recognitions of the Same Employee. Same employee can not check-in again before the set interval is over.
- Set Screen Timeout interval among the possible options – 10 minutes, 20 minutes, or 30 minutes. Screen Timeout is the time interval after which the device screen goes out of operation when no employee marks attendance on the device during the Screen Timeout. For example, if you set the Screen Timeout interval to 10 minutes, and no employee checks-in or checks-out within the 10 minutes since the last attendance marked, the screen goes out of operation automatically.
In Sensitivity
Admin users can set the device to capture attendance of the employees from a distance by increasing the sensitivity.
On the contrary, if sensitivity is decreased, the device can not take attendance from a distance, so the employees must stand closer to the device to get their attendance marked.
Sensitivity can range from 1.0 to 1.8.
Simple click on your preferred choice to select the sensitivity you want.
In Customize Display:
Admin users can choose to customize their device display according to their own preferences. Change Top Bar Background Color, Logo’s Background Color, and Font Color to match your requirements.
To change the Top Bar Background Color:
- Click Customize Display in Device Configuration.
- Click on Color icon in front of Top Bar Background Color.
- A color-tray appears.
- Select a color from the tray by clicking on it.
- Double-click on the pointer to hold the pointer in the tray. Drag it further to select the color variation you want.
- Click Submit at the bottom or Cancel to go back.
The color of the Top Bar Background of the device is now changed.
To change Logo’s Background Color:
- Click Customize Display.
- Click on Color icon in front of Logo’s Background Color.
- A color-tray appears.
- Select a color from the tray.
- Double-click on the pointer to hold the pointer in the tray. Drag it further to select the color variation you want.
- Click Submit at the bottom or Cancel to go back.
The color of the Logo’s Background of the device is now changed.
To change the Font’s Color of the Device:
- Click Customize Display.
- Click on Color icon in front of Logo’s Background Color.
- A color-tray appears.
- Select a color from the tray.
- Double-click on the pointer to hold the pointer in the tray. Drag it further to select the color variation you want.
- Click Submit at the bottom or Cancel to go back.
The Font Color of the device is now changed.
- Click Restore to Default icon to restore to default settings.
In Device PIN:
The Device PIN can be changed as per your own preferences. The default Device PIN is 000000.
To change or modify the device PIN settings:
- Click Device PIN.
- You will be able to see your old Device PIN in the pop-up that appears on clicking Device PIN.
- Enter your 6-digit NEW Device PIN.
- Click Set to set the new device pin.
The Device PIN has been changed successfully.
Copy Device Settings of One Device to Other Device
CamAttendance admin users can easily copy device settings of one device to another device or a number of other devices simultaneously.
To copy Device Settings of one device to other devices:
- Go to Home > Devices > Device Configuration.
- Click Copy Settings in the right-hand side corner of your screen.
- Select a Source Device – the device whose settings are to be copied.
- Select a Destination Device – the device to which the settings are to be copied. You can choose one or multiple destination devices at once.
- Click Apply to copy the settings to the destination device.
